What I Do
I am a co-founder and co-owner of the Flywheel Tech Collective - a tech worker cooperative based in Cleveland, Ohio. My primary role there is to build and theme Drupal websites, consult on database design with CiviCRM and OpenERP, and all-around business work that isn't as exciting to mention here.
I am also active in multiple projects in my community, and out tech worker cooperative is often hosting workshops and assisting groups and projects with web sites, applications, and communication services.
Areas of Expertise
- Drupal Site Building, Theming, Development and Testing. I am experienced with configuring and extending such things as Ubercart, Apache Solr, Drupal Commerce, and CiviCRM.
- OpenERP deployment, database design, customization and training.
- SEO & SEM
- Server administration: Debian/Ubuntu, Apache + Varnish, MySql, PostgreSQL, some NoSQL. I can handle deployment of PHP, Python, Java and Ruby software.
- Some Development experience: PHP, Python, etc.
Software I Like to Use
- Ubuntu or Debian - Former for Desktop, Latter for Server. Gnu-Linux all the way!
- GNOME-based software - Evolution, Gwibber, Empathy, Banshee, Shutter, Liferea,
- Libre Office!
- OpenERP desktop (for running FTC & project management)
- I am still trying to decide whether I want to go with Aptana/Eclipse or Emacs, so I actually admittedly use a highly modified Gedit or VIM (blush)
